Big Creative Solutions create custom Facebook pages

As we all know, Facebook is a very powerful social media tool which helps you keep in touch with all your family and friends but it is also an excellent place to meet new people. So why not do the same for your business using Facebook ‘Pages’?

Similar to a normal personal Facebook profile, ‘Pages’ allows you to create a profile for you business, setting it up in the usual manner (business name, contact details, describe the business and what it does, what it makes etc.) and as with personal profiles where you are able to invite friends, Facebook ‘Pages’ allows you interact with other users by asking them to ‘Like’ your business page thus spreading the word about your company. You can even acquire a unique Facebook domain address for your page (http://www.facebook.com/mypage) but this can be limited depending if somebody else across the globe has already taken the name. However, what is pretty clever about this is visitors do not need a Facebook account to view your page but if they want to interact with your business via Facebook, such as receiving posts, sharing information etc., then they will need an account.

Now what is really clever is that you can now add new sections (or ‘tabs’ as they are known) to your business page by using various Facebook ‘apps’ and by using a bit of design and HTML wizardry, these pages can be customised to create a look that is unique to you. For instance, the top left profile image can be set as your company brand logo or similar and the main section of the page can be transformed to move away from the standard style of the Facebook look and layout. To this area you can add images, text, video and much more. Think of it as a mini website within Facebook.

Another useful and clever bit of marketing is that Facebook allows those who ‘Like’ your page to see page content different to those that are not. So for instance, lets say you want to run some special offers but only to Facebook users who ‘Like’ your page and become a fan. So for those who haven’t yet liked your page you could display a message on Facebook saying something like ‘don’t forget to Like’ our page and receive a 10% discount on your first order using the special discount code provided’. Once users click the ‘Like’ button on your page they will see the different page content which displays the discount code.

Once users ‘Like’ your page you have captured them as somebody extra to market to. Any future posts which you write on Facebook (i.e. special offers, new product arrival etc.) will automatically appear on their Facebook wall.

Contemporary Coverings Goes Live

On the 27th August 2011 at 9.00am Contemporary Coverings opened it’s doors to the public and Big Creative Solutions played a major part in getting the shop branding, signage and website finished and ready for the big day.

Located in Alcester, Warwickshire, Contemporary Coverings supply and fit ‘Alternative Flooring’ which includes solid wood flooring, engineered and laminate wood flooring, luxury vinyl tiles (Karndean) and they are exclusive suppliers of quality designer rugs from The Plantation Rug Company. There are a huge range of styles and finishes to choose from in every category and as an extra Contemporary Coverings will arrange fitting and installation.

Not only are the public available to browse and buy from the Alcester retail branch but Big Creative Solutions also designed and developed www.contemporarycoverings.co.uk, an online shopping website where users are able to browse and purchase some of the products available from Contemporary Coverings. At present the website payments are only available through PayPal but plans to expand the product range and payment gateways are on the drawing board.

Big Creative Solutions Celebrate 4th July…A Day Late!

Here at Big Creative Solutions we like to do our bit to help other nationalities around the world celebrate their country’s special day. Our neighbours across the pond are this week celebrating American Independence Day (4th July).

Wikipedia quotes “Independence Day is a federal holiday in the United States commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain. Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, political speeches and ceremonies, in addition to various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States.

Not wanting to be left out I found an interesting flavoured soup whilst roaming the isles in a popular German based supermarket this week. Easy to prepare and with it’s classic American taste, I have to say, Aldi’s ‘Taste of America’ Yellow Pea and Potato Soup was a sure winner for today’s lunch.

It seems that in America, every day is some sort of food celebration day, today (5th July) is National Apple Turnover Day, tomorrow is National Fried Chicken Day and the day after is National Strawberry Sundae day. Bring it on!

Welcome To The Big Creative Solutions Blog Spot

Welcome to the new Blog area for Big Creative Solutions. In keeping with modern trends and not one to be left behind Big Creative Solutions though the time was right to share to the world the news and views going on within the company. First of all I have had familiarise myself with WordPress which I have to admit isn’t actually that difficult once you take a few moments, or in my case a whole days work time, to take a look around and get use to all the templates, sorry, ‘themes’ and widgets available. I’m sure once having used WordPress for a while it will all come together and we’ll be designing and developing all types of blogs, news and other informative sites. Watch this space!

Recently Big Creative Solutions have been pretty busy on the web front and have launched a few new sites, most memorably, the new Arden Medical website (http://www.arden-medical.com) which in terms of work rate and hours put in was a beast. However this site does boast a few fancy features such as Flash based movies and a stylish world map distributor contact area. Other projects recently launched are T.R. Golder Brickwork and Constuction (http://www.trgolder.co.uk), which for the mean time is in it’s early stages of development. Later to come will be a gallery showing the step by step process of recent building projrcts. We have also completed a lot of work for local woodland and landscape management services, R.D. Tree Surgery. This has included a new brand identity, company stationery, vehicle livery, corporate workwear and a website holding page (http://www.rdtreesurgery.co.uk).

Many thanks to the people who have supported Big Creative Solutions so far and there are a few more projects in the pipeline which hopefully you will be able to read about very soon so keep checking back.
